Role Description

As a Software Developer at MapTransit, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining software solutions that power our AI-driven geospatial projects. You will work closely with data scientists, geospatial analysts, and other developers to create innovative tools and applications that process and visualize large datasets. Your work will contribute to the success of projects like GlobeRender, enhancing our ability to provide accurate and detailed 3D simulations of Earth. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that makes a meaningful difference on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications for geospatial data processing and visualization.

• Implement AI models for 3D mapping and simulation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions into larger systems.

• Optimize software performance to handle large datasets efficiently.

• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in geospatial analytics and AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geography, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on geospatial or AI applications.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.

• Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.

• Knowledge of geospatial data formats and libraries (e.g., GDAL, GeoPandas).

• Familiarity with 3D modeling and rendering technologies.

• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team.

• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.

• Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, React).

• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
